SPOTS before my eyes!

COOL! Look at these SPOTS!

"MO Cache"-- "Sapphire" x "Dallas"

"Cache" (weanling) and "Sapphire"

"MO Alladdin"
"Cream" x "Dallas"(his spots are a little harder to see!)
"MO Dallas Cowboy"
"Gypsy" x "Dallas" - yearling (His spots are hard to see! They are darker chestnut spots!)

"Dallas" a few dark chestnut spots, and some       white spots!
Soooooo..... I check my horses in the pasture... the palomino weanling has rub spots on him? I keep checking him, the later in the summer, the more spots he gets! I know that I did NOT breed his mom "Sapphire" to an Appaloosa, I recall breeding her to "Dallas"! Handled that one myself! Does he have a skin problem? The spots are all over, same size and spaced pretty even.
Looking it up, I find out "Dallas" has "Bend Or" (name of a race horse) or medicine spots! He has dark spots and white spots! (I was told it was because he is out of a roan mare! ) The spots show up on chestnuts and palominos! Sure enough, Cache, Alladdin,  and Cowboy all have the SPOTS! Way to go "Dallas"!

Aren't GRAND CHILDREN the BEST!
I'm hoping to get a horse crazy kid out of this generation! It skipped my children for some reason! Look at the pure joy on Andie's face!

Eddison was Gramma's helper! We pulled three big leaf bags full of burrs from the horse pasture! What a trooper!

John trying to persuade Andie to give up her horse! Chad is patiently waiting to put Saylor on board! They compromised! Rode DOUBLE!

John (6'4') and Charlie on "Manzanita"

Kara (9 months pregnant) riding "Manzanita" aka "Mansey" with Saylor.

"Saydee"

TOO CUTE!

"MO Dallas Cowboy" is ONE!

  • "MO Dallas Cowboy" is 1! Is he gorgeous! "Cowboy is out of MO Foxtrotters' "MANE MAN" ---"ZGC Dallas" and my first fox trotter mare: "Pryorview's Gypsy Rosa Lee", aka "Gypsy".  "Gypsy" (deceased 2011) was a 16.2 hand mare with tons of heart, and endurance! Morlin's favorite gelding- "Business" is out of "Gypsy". One nice mare! There are also three of her colts that were kept as stallions! They are that NICE!
  •    "Cowboy" is for sale--- I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER STALLION! to approved home- $4,500 obo. If not sold by summer 2013, he will be gelded and my husband has claims on him! "Business" is almost 20! Time to retire him!

"Cowboy is gorgeous- coming- or going!

These photos are taken of him when he was a yearling! "Cowboy" looks like he will be over 16 hands! WOW!

The Narrows Ride, Payson Canyon 7/2012

View of the Alpine fire from Nebo Loop Road.

So one of my fav rides is up the Narrows, Payson Canyon. As you guessed, this trail goes up a narrow canyon, following the stream bed that made it! There are some amazing cliffs and narrow passages where you ride right up the streambed! (Great ride for a young horse getting familiar with water!)  It is full of wildflowers and butterflies! Kinda enchanting!

Yes, we went cross- country and NO there is no trail!

GOOD HORSE Day! April 27, 2012-- Sapphire Delivers

On April 27th, 2012, The HORSE GODs sent down a good one! "Sapphire" delivered a gorgeous CURLY palomino horse colt! He is drop-dead gorgeous like his mom, and has long legs from his papa-- "Dallas". This guy is super sweet and friendly!  Photos are on day 1.

Look at those legs! AND awesome markings, 4 white socks! Lots of CHROME! This boy will turn heads! AND he will be dual registered MFTHBA (Fox Trotter) and ICHO (Curly). He also has an amazing pedigree! He will be for sale at weaning.

Don't you just love those swirls of curls!!

What a wonderful way to end MO Foxtrotter's foaling season!
